VESSELS AND INSTRUMENTS

"Where, O My people, are those who understand that which I am doing? Where are those to whom the Lord has revealed Himself? Is there not an instrument in the land that the Lord can use to reveal Himself to the people? Is there no one who is receptive enough to the things of the Spirit that I can make known My purposes for this day? I say, I am looking across the land to find vessels that I may use for My glory. I am looking for a people to be My light and My glory in this day. I am waiting patiently for those to whom I can declare My ways, and show Myself strong in this day.

But does a vessel boast of itself, when it is only a container for something else? Does an instrument boast of itself when it is being wielded by someone else? I say to you, boast not at that which I shall do through you. For you are only a vessel, emptied and prepared by Me for that glory which I shall put in it, and you are merely an instrument that I may use in My hand to accomplish My purpose for this day. For truly, this is what I need, vessels into which I may pour My glory, that the excellency of that power may be of Me and not of man. And I also need instruments that I may use to wield in My hand, says the Lord. And I say to you, the vessel and the instrument are one. First you must become a vessel into which I can pour Myself, and fill with My glory and My power, and then shall you become an instrument in My hand.

I say further to you, there are instruments which I use which have not first become vessels. For I have use of any person, or nation, or force that I choose for an instrument of My purpose; but this is not what I am seeking, says the Lord. I am not seeking this kind of instrument; for this is not to My glory, says the Lord. It may magnify Me in the eyes of some as they behold that which I am able to accomplish by My mighty hand through whomsoever I choose; but again, I say, this is not what I am seeking.

I am seeking that which will submit to Me in total obedience, so that what I do may not just show forth My power , . . But My holiness. My virtue, and My kindness . . . may show forth the glory of My person and make all men realize I am a God of love and compassion as well as a God of power. Such a vessel and instrument was the Lord Jesus, who was perfectly yielded to My Spirit to do all that I wished. And now I say to you, other vessels have I sought for that I may show forth My glory in this day, as I did in His day. Therefore I say to you, My son, I will show forth My glory through you and other vessels which I have found in this day. Therefore seek your God, that you may be found worthy of all that which has been prepared for you.

And now, what must you do to become a vessel to the Lord? First there must be a complete emptying of oneself. I will not allow a mixture in that which I am working; it must be all of Me and none of yourself. I cannot use vessels in this day who are even a little bit filled with their own desires, and plans, and selfish ways. There must be a complete emptying of self, and then only can I fill with that which will bring honor to Myself, which is not a mixture but that which is pure and true. So I would have you empty yourself completely, and let Me fill you says the Lord.

Then there must be an appropriation by faith of that which is available, for I will pour nothing into your vessel that is not received by an act of definite faith and reaching out. Reach out and receive that which I have made available in My Word, for how can you appropriate that which you know nothing of? Therefore, you must seek Me in My Word, and believe that which is spoken; even so shall I begin to fill your vessel with that which I have made available. And then I would have you use and pour out that which I have placed within you. For even as water becomes stagnant when it remains unmoved, even so shall you become stagnant if you do not let that which is within you pour out to others. For as you pour out, I will pour in, and you will be full and running over says the Lord.

And then further I would have you make yourself continually available for My cleansings, that I may remove any deposits or accumulation of debris which might be in your vessel. For I say, the enemy is always ready to slip things in on the sly, and contaminate that which I am putting within you. Therefore you must constantly search your own heart that those deposits which have resulted from Satan's deception be removed from your vessel; even so shall you be clean and pure before Me, says the Lord.

Now for the final thing which I would have you do: drink only the pure water of My Word; avoid the writings of men unless it should be that which I would instruct you to read. For there are those I have raised up with a message for this hour, but they are very few. Most of the writings of men contain such a mixture of truth and error, that they only bring confusion. Therefore, avoid the writings of men, and let Me fill your vessel with the pure water of My Word. If you will do this, then My Spirit shall teach you and your vessel will be full and overflowing. And then you shall be ready to be used of Me as an instrument in My hand; for the vessel and the instrument are one. But first you must be a vessel fit for the Master's use, and then shall you become an instrument in My hand.

Even so am I looking across the land seeking for vessels. So many want to be instruments, but they are unwilling first to become prepared vessels. And because of their unwillingness to yield themselves wholly to Me, I can use them very little, says the Lord. The land is full of unprepared vessels who want to be instruments, but so few who are willing to become vessels prepared, says the Lord. So continue to seek Me, that I may reveal Myself to you. And think not that you can become a mighty Instrument, until first I have prepared you as a vessel."
